What do you feel is the most important aspect of your art that you would like for it to communicate to others? (Warmth, inspiration, memories) This is a really fun question. At my core, I truly want to share the way that I see the world and the moods that come along with it. Color, shape and texture are ways in which I’m able to express these parts of myself.
Warmth is a good word to summarize the overall feeling. My practice has been shaped around utilizing natural light and listening to my body to make work revolving around the present moment and trusting yourself.

Tell us a little about your creative process - does it involve music, warmups, inspiring morning rituals, coffee?! When I paint I turn on music and put my phone away. I try to keep myself focused on what’s right in front of me: canvas and the colors I’m making for each specific piece. I wear an apron and gloves. It’s not super glamorous, but I get really encompassed while I’m painting and I like to let myself get as messy as I need to.

What do you love most about Miami in the summertime? It actually rains a lot in Miami during the summer! Which is something I’m working on being patient with everyday. I’m randomly super affected by the weather.
I love the energy of summer. People are happier and more calm. I find a lot of joy in getting dressed during summer, it’s all tank tops and little dresses which is what I’m most comfortable in. Even though the weather is always pretty summery in Miami, nothing hits like true summer.

Share with us something surprising that ppl may not know about you... I’m a middle child! In between two brothers. Also, both my mom and dad's families are from Cuba and came to Miami in the late 50s, early 60s.

And finally how does it feel to wear the Marbella dress? Like a sweet summer dream! It’s so light, airy, and reminds me a lot of the dresses I would wear in high school.
